A Borrowed Identity

Directed by Lloyd Ingraham
1913    11mShort, Western
Harry West, on the way to visit the ranch of his father's friend, meets and changes clothes with a cowboy, in order to play a joke on his prospective host. The real cowboy is mistaken by the family for their guest from the east, and "fussed" over considerably by everyone but Evelyn, who has heart and eyes for no one but the make-believe cowboy. Harry is arrested on a charge of horse-stealing, in spite of his protestations and denial of guilt. Through Evelyn he sends a telegram to his father. Mr. West arrives and Harry is released on his recognition, and joyfully received by the ranch owner and his family. It is his acquaintance of the road who is the guilty one. Harry introduces Evelyn to his father as his fiancée.
