After the accidental discovery of Buddhist caves of Ajintha, the British decide to send Captain Gill, a soldier and a skilled artist, to recreate the paintings and sculptures, so that they can be exhibited to popularize the caves. Gill falls in love with Paro, a girl from the local tribal community, who becomes his muse and the source of his creativity.
