The Syrian refugee family Hemidi* recently came to live in Merseburg, Saxony-Anhalt. Here, they have to deal with a culture which is foreign to them as well as with the new German surroundings. This doesn't always come natural to them, as the memories of war in Syria still determine their daily routine. The film accompanies the family of seven during their first steps in Germany and tries to get to the bottom of the personal development of the individual in this area of conflict. (*Name altered)
