1957 - Algiers. Mathematician Maurice Audin is arrested by French paratroopers. His wife and three children will never see him again. Shortly afterward, he is declared an "escapee" by the army. He was 25 years old. 2012 - Despite 50 years of investigations and trials, the justice system has closed its cases without convicting the perpetrators or acknowledging the facts: torture and murder. Memories fade, documents are lost, and the last witnesses disappear in turn. After Maurice Audin's disappearance, we are witnessing another: the disappearance of memory. With the help of historical witnesses, the film revisits the Algerian War through the fate of an individual who has become the tragic symbol of this unnamed conflict.
