In Soacha, a town in the Colombian Andes, the charred body of the lame Isidro is discovered inside his burned hut and, at the bottom of a nearby cliff, that of the young Nicolás. Nicolás' father, Ferro, is suspected, due to his bad character and the passion that young María inspires in him. Only the local doctor defends him.
