Swiss accountant Josef Nötzli has been working in a Berlin chemical company for 26 years, but promotion, or appreciation for his work, are nowhere in sight. Until, thanks a misunderstanding and misdirected letters of recommendation, Nötzli suddenly gets the management position which he had dreamed about for 20 years.
