Patricia Fentriss, the flapper daughter of a wealthy family, is in love with Cary Scott, a former lover of her mother's, but refuses to marry him because she believes marriage is the death of all love. At a yachting party given by a profligate violinist, she faces real evil. Her better self asserts itself. She jumps into the river. A sailor rescues her, and she returns to Scott.
