Anja Niedringhaus, murdered in Afghanistan in 2014, was one of the most outstanding photojournalists of our time. For a quarter of a century, she reported from the front lines of the world's wars and received the highest honor in her profession, the Pulitzer Prize. With her distinctive eye, she documented the suffering and humanity of those who receive little attention in the news: women, children, and ordinary soldiers. Anja Niedringhaus captured the emotional roller coasters on Wimbledon's Centre Court as well as the world records at the Olympics. The film portrays the dramatic life of a passionate and strong woman who had to fight against numerous obstacles throughout her life. While we get closer to the photographer personally through impressive archival footage, colleagues and friends recall shared experiences and underscore the vital importance of journalistic work. The photographer's tragic death sends an urgent message that resonates even today.
