Hercules and Admetus
Directed by Anatoliy PetrovMoira predicted an early death to Admet. He turned to Pythia, and she gave him the will of Apollo: he could get rid of death if someone else agreed to die instead. On the advice of Hermes, Admet goes on a quest, but neither the soldiers going to battle nor the poor blind old man agreed to die in his stead. On the last day, the wife of Admet Alkesta (Alcestida) sacrifices herself for her husband's sake.
