In the animal world, males are typically the ones who impose authority over females. However, in some species the opposite occurs, with the added disadvantage that female leaders lack bodily attributes and obvious physical superiority. In the African savannah, matriarchies acquire an added merit, namely, the ability to perform them in the most demanding and harsh ecosystem on the planet. They are selfless females who assume responsibility for the pack, whose tasks and duties go beyond solidarity and brotherhood. Because in the African savannah, if you are a female and want to act as a leader, you must first become a heroine. A documentary centered on the lives of three matriarchs: an elephant, a hyena, and a banded mongoose, whose sacrificial and responsible lives will impact us and make us fairly appreciate the role of female leaders in the wild.
