In ancient times a hunter lived in Altay. He knew much about the beasts in the forest and taught his son all the hunting wisdom, but first of all the fact that the beast is killed only when it is necessary to feed the children or the old ones. Once the hunter and his son saw from an ambush how a demon-almys (the character of the Altay mythology) is raging in the forest: pulling trees from the root and beating animals. When the almys removed, the hunter and his son helped the surviving beasts - bears and arharas - to reach the spring with healing water. Soon in the morning, the demon attacked the nomadic people.
