A teen has his cozy life upended, when he is forced to change high schools for his Junior year and leave behind his best friends. From the outside, this seems like an amazing opportunity for a gifted student, but for Wes, there's more to the story. His ex-best friend, Anthony attends the new school and facing him means having to face some uncomfortable topics from Wes's past. To make matters worse, Wes is also suffering under the weight of a sexual assault that took place a year or so prior that no one knows about. Wes's divorced and dysfunctional parents are finally working together - against him. The most popular girl in school suddenly decides she wants to date Wes. And now, Anthony Marshall, the boy who made Wes question everything about himself, is back in his life and looming more largely than ever. All of these things conspire to make Wes feel Insignificant.
