Lights Out Ratings & Reviews
Cinema Crazed
Emilie Black
... the film is easy to watch, but also rather frustrating to watch. It has potential and makes very little use of it.
Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews
Dennis Schwartz
Dreary B-film.

Amy Nicholson
I was sitting there basically screaming at the movie "Where's Scott Adkins?"

If you were a fan of Chuck Norris movies from the 1980s then you will love this.
Sean Chandler Talks About

Lights Out can't decide if it wants to be a tournament fighter or a corrupt cop movie. I preferred the tournament fighter sections which reminded me of Van Damme's Lionheart. The action was edited too choppy for me to be able to recommend the film.

As far as these fight flicks go, Lights Out does deliver "the goods" and is even quite entertaining to boot. While Lights Out doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel, it does gets a lot of mileage thanks to Grillo and Phifer who make it easily worth a watch.
Common Sense Media
Jeffrey M. Anderson
The combination of Grillo and Phifer promised something at least passable, but it's all so sloppy and generic that it's more likely it was just a paycheck for them.

Leo Brady
Although there's a clear effort, along with a cool cast, the final result fails to land a punch.
The Last Thing I See
Brent McKnight
A kick-ass movie about ass kicking.
Elements of Madness
Douglas Davidson
... leave[s] audiences feeling less than thrilled for having started the journey in the first place, so overly-wrought is the narrative while cutting as many corners as it can in order to meet its 90-minute runtime.
MovieFreak.com
Sara Michelle Fetters
Lights Out is a waste of time.
Mark Reviews Movies
Mark Dujsik
Lights Out sacrifices some intriguing characters for the sake of an overly complicated plot and a focus on action.
Blu-ray.com
Brian Orndorf
It's not a terrible way to spend 90 minutes, especially for fans of B-movies and those capable of shutting off the film at the 60-minute mark.
Midwest Film Journal
Evan Dossey
Despite a few fun choices in depicting the action, Lights Out fails to deliver the basic thrills of a VOD thriller. One to skip.
