Manhatitlán Chronicles
Directed by Felipe GalindoThe Manhatitlan Chronicles presents 5 whimsical animation shorts derived from Felipe Galindo's works on paper project Manhatitlan. In them he transposes elements of the Mexican culture onto the cityscape of Manhattan. There are no dialogs, only descriptive texts in English and Spanish. Galindo coined the name Manhatitlan, fusing New York City's native name with Tenochtitlan, Mexico City's Aztec name, and symbolizes for him the merger of the Mexican and American cultures in New York.
