In the middle of the deep dark woods stood from time immemorial a mysterious castle, which people called Wolf's Castle. Already twelve virgins had disappeared in it without a trace. The thirteenth was to be Maryshka, a poor girl from the mountains. It happened that Maryshka got lost in those deep dark woods and reached the Wolf's Castle. There she was subjected to a cruel test of the supernatural powers that resided in the castle.
