First Love is based on the eponymous novella by Ivan Turgenev set in the first third of the 19th century. The leading character, Vladimir, is a 16-year old boy who is spending his summer in the countryside with his parents while studying for university entrance exams. Meanwhile, Princess Zasyekina with her young and enchanting daughter (and a son) moves in next door, and Vladimir's studies are soon forgotten.
