The protagonist is a small and very curious chicken Petya. He was so interested in the world around him that he continually fought off his mummy-chicken and chicken sisters. Once he was so much carried away by the pursuit of a beautiful butterfly that he was alone in a dark, dark forest. The hen, not having counted the one of her kiddies at home, left the chickens under the supervision of the responsible duck, and went on a quest.
