Once upon a time, Poyga the hunter lived in the northern reaches of the Russian land. He returned from a hunt one day, only to find his native land overrun by a villainous foreign force, which began burning and plundering. Terrified, Poyga fled into the forest. Only an encounter with a beautiful maiden by the river restored his will to live.
