Grete is a clerk in a department store, and in her free time she plays with kitchenware and looks after her neighbour, Anna, who is a single mother. After appearing at her director's house, Grete helps the military orderly Peter, who sleeps a bit: Grete takes his uniform and soon she is on a military maneuver as an orderly.
