Alexander Ivanovich Kirpikov is very popular in his village: he's the only one with a horse, and everyone has gardens to tend. So the villagers try to "respect" him. But one day, the seasoned craftsman's constitution fails. After one of his drinking bouts, Kirpikov's condition became so severe that, in a panic, he decided to quit drinking.
