Linda is 12, and she is bored. It seems to her that nothing matters and nothing ever happens. Finally, one day she meets an older man. Linda is amused, even exhilarated, by their seemingly-innocent encounter. But things take a disturbing turn, and Linda's world is transformed forever. The film is based on a short story by Joyce Carol Oates.
