Tom Frazier loses his position on account of his craving for liquor. Nora, his wife, pleads with Tex Eaton, the foreman of the ranch, to take her husband back. Frazier sees his wife leaving the cabin of the foreman, and immediately becomes suspicious. That night Frazier turns his wife out and, in his anger, overturns a lamp, which sets the house on fire. Herbert, his son, is soundly sleeping in the next room, and would have been burned to death if it had not been for the timely assistance of Eaton. Frazier comes to his senses and realizes that his wife had not only saved him his position, but through Eaton had saved the life of his son. Frazier promises to turn over a new leaf and the story ends pleasantly.
