In the city of Oviedo, in the north of Spain, there are several very unique populations of salamanders, many of which have remained isolated since the founding of the city in the 8th century. A visit to its history, the legends that surround this animal since ancient times, as well as the singularities of these populations that have managed to survive in the city without watercourses, an essential element in the reproduction of most amphibians.
