While walking along the river bank, the little jackal and his friend the camel felt that they were hungry. But on the deserted shore there was nothing but dry thorns, and on the opposite shore delicious crabs frolicked and sweet, juicy sugar cane grew. The little jackal really wanted to eat the crabs, but he was unable to cross to the other side.
