The untold story of one of the most influential cities in the history of music. From 1920 until today Kansas City has influenced music. Beginning in the 1920s with the evolution of Jazz and Blues from prohibition. In the 1960s and 70's a center for Folk music at the Vanguard Coffeehouse. The cultivation of the KC Sound by bands like Seasons to Risk, Frogpond and The Get Up Kids. Across Troost Avenue hip hop artists like Tech N9ne, Rich the Factor and Mac Lethal were making names Across the country and establishing Kansas City as a force in music.
