A greedy priest decided to save money and hired Balda to work for him for three slaps on the forehead a year. Balda worked diligently, but the closer the payday got, the more nervous the priest became and thought about how to get out of it. The priest devised an impossible task for Balda and sent him to collect tribute from the devils.
