Charming tale of mountaineer-trapper Yancey's (Audie Murphy) first taste of big city life with young, sweet Rosalie (Sandra Dee) in tow. She flees her family, which tried to trade her for some of Yancey's beaver pelts, and tags along with the reluctant Yancey. They get into all manner of trouble in town, and Yancey has to shoot Sheriff Bartell (Gilbert Roland) to rescue Rosalie from her job as a dance hall girl.
