Some people have a bad day; John is having a bad life--so bad that he decides to end it. But sometimes when you're down on your luck, you can't even get suicide right. John very reluctantly decides to live. Now if he can just survive his ex-drug-addict brother Peter who has found spirituality, his highly-strung control-freak sister, his weird flatmate William, and eternally-positive gardener Unathi, he might just find a little peace and quiet. Or not.... Throw in a disastrous road trip and John's life is about to get a whole lot more complicated. You might not be able to choose your family, but you may just discover in a weird and wonderful way that there really is no place like home. In the vein of "Little Miss Sunshine" "The Squid and the Whale", and other indie dramedies, "There's No Place Like Home" is a poignant, witty look at dysfunctional families and at one flawed individual's reluctant journey to wellness.
