You can only tread water for so long before you drown. The lives of a former professional surfer and a homeless drifter become entwined after a failed suicide attempt. These two lost souls agree to a partnership to find purpose in their hollow lives. As they struggle with their demons they may discover that the answer lies within each other. Treading Water uses the winter landscape of the Jersey shore as its backdrop. The normally bustling boardwalks sit desolate in the fading winter sun. The film feature many locations that were ravaged by the affects of hurricane Sandy.
