Captain Flint draws a map of Treasure Island and is pursued by other pirates, from whom Flint escapes in a tree. During the squabble with them, Flint drops the map, and the pirates fight over it and kill each other. Flint climbs down from the tree and picks up the map, but the pirate Billy Bones, who did not take part in the fight, shoots Flint, killing him, and takes the map.
