Directed by Maxim PeshkovOn New Year's Eve, Tayke and Umka simultaneously make a secret wish-to find a true friend. A wonderful encounter between the little boy and the polar bear cub occurs the very next morning, and they become best friends. Tayke and Umka keep their friendship a secret, which is one day discovered by a visiting poacher, Sedoy, and his accomplices. Having deceived Tayke, they kidnap Umka's mother to sell the polar bear to a private zoo. But the brave Tayke, aided by his family, will do everything to rescue and return Umka's mother to him.
