As a judge and prosecutor, Karel Vaš, CSc, helped more than 20 innocent people and hundreds to long deaths during the political trials of the 1950s. He agreed to the shooting and in the document he explains the perverted logic of why, for example, it is okay to have General Heliodor Píka hanged, in the process of which he acted as both prosecutor and judge.
