A famous comedic play by the playwright William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream follows two pairs of lovers from Athens, who find themselves in a magical forest at the summer solstice, where they encounter the faerie folk. The forest faeries have problems of their own, with their king, Oberon, being rejected by his wife in an argument. Oberon sends the mischief-loving Puck to play tricks upon the faerie queen with the aim of making her fall in love with him once more, and of course, the human couples are caught up in the confusion and trickery. This production, by a Devon / Brixham theatre company experienced in performing Shakespeare, has a setting combining fantasy with steampunk, and is suitable for all ages.
