Even after penning some of Nashville's best-known hits, his record labels' cookie-cutter approach to creating music made Willie Nelson contemplate hocking vacuum cleaners. Distraught, he pulls stakes and heads back to hardscrabble Texas. There, a gritty blend of rednecks, hippies and an emerging counter culture are brewing and connect with Willie's unorthodox approach to songwriting and performing. It's tagged the "Outlaw Movement" and Willie Nelson is poster boy. But would it succeed as the country music industry was entering a whole new age? And what hard life lessons would Willie learn in the end?
