B. K. Harinarayanan is a prominent Indian lyricist, poet, and occasional director and actor working primarily in the Malayalam film industry. Born in Kunnamkulam in the Thrissur district of Kerala, his early exposure to traditional Sanskrit slokas and poetry shaped his linguistic foundation and sparked his passion for verse. He eventually transitioned from publishing poetry in standard Malayalam literary magazines to writing songs for commercial cinema.
