Eva Maria Bayerwaltes (born July 28, 1950, in Bonn) is a German actress and voice-over artist.
Bayerwaltes attended a humanistic Gymnasium (classical secondary school) and subsequently studied acting at the Mozarteum Salzburg, where she received her diploma as a certified stage performer in 1972. Her training included, among other subjects, singing, breath and vocal technique, as well as literature and theater studies.
Her first theater engagement took her to the Städtische Bühnen Freiburg; later, she performed at venues such as the Landestheater Schwaben in Memmingen and the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg. While still in training, she made her television debut in 1972 in the crime series *Der Kommissar*.
From the 1980s onward, Bayerwaltes appeared regularly on German television. She gained recognition through roles such as Pauline Kröber in *Heimat – Eine deutsche Chronik* and, later, in *Die zweite Heimat – Chronik einer Jugend*. She also held roles in television films such as *Plötzlich Opa* and *Die Erntehelferin*.
In the hospital drama series *In aller Freundschaft*, she made multiple appearances as the stern head nurse, Ruth Faust. She also achieved widespread popularity through her long-running role as Professor Dr. Wolter in the crime series *SOKO Stuttgart*, in which she portrayed the head of forensic medicine.
Bayerwaltes is also a successful voice-over artist. She has lent her German voice to actresses including Kathy Bates, Whoopi Goldberg, Julie Walters, and Stockard Channing. Additionally, she has voiced characters in animated and children's series such as *SimsalaGrimm* and *Das Zauberkarussell*.
