Gjon Mili was an Albanian-American photographer and filmmaker renowned for his innovative work with light and motion. After studying electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he applied his technical knowledge to photography, pioneering techniques such as stroboscopic photography. Mili is perhaps best known for his collaboration with Pablo Picasso in 1949, where he captured the artist creating "light drawings" using a small electric light in a darkened room. These photographs remain iconic in the art world.
