Sebastião Bernardes de Souza Prata (better known as Grande Otelo) was a Brazilian actor, comedian, singer, producer and composer. Grande Otelo participated in several successful films in Brazilian cinema, including the "chanchada" films, a genre that was successful in the country between the 1940s and 1950s. The artist is cited several times as one of the most important actors in the history of Brazilian cinema, and its name is adopted by the Grande Otelo Prize, the most prestigious award in Brazilian cinema.
