A dramatic reconstruction of a Greek tanker ship on fire and drifting out of control towards the oil fields of the North Sea. RAF helicopter winchman Mel Ward is the crew's only hope for survival, but halfway through the rescue his helicopter suffers critical damage and his colleagues are forced to abandon him on the blazing tanker to save themselves.
