Tonho and Alika kiss, but he stops when he remembers Dona Menina’s prophecy. The doctor begins Omar’s surgery. Soliman prays anxiously and Chinua comforts him. José, Alika, Niara, and Teresa talk about Tonho’s arrest. Alika tells her mother that she kissed Tonho and considers that he might be the warrior of her dreams. Mirinho apologizes to Alika, who challenges him to free Tonho.
