Jendal reminds Cayman about the oracle’s prophecy and appeals for the king not to break his promise to give him Alika’s hand in marriage. Alika states that Jendal is not the man who will protect her from the supposed misfortune of her kingdom. Jendal assures Kênia that he will be the king of Batanga. Omar courts Alika. Cayman decides to make a deal with Pasha Soliman. Jendal suggests that Mr. Campbell support him in a coup.
