The bandit who attacked the operas turns out to be the son of the leader. He was sure that they had killed his father, as Surovtsev said. But then the bandit manages to find out that Surovtsev did it. A bandit with accomplices executes Surovtsev, recording his murder on video, and throws the film to Usoltseva. This event unexpectedly gives a new impetus to the Vodyanoy case, which also records murders on cameras, leaving them later at the crime scene. Trying to figure him out from the cameras he used, the opera stumbles upon Okunev's strange case. This is not the first time he has contacted the police with stories that someone secretly enters his apartment, takes away old household appliances, and brings a new one in its place. And he doesn't know who it might be. The opera finds out that either his ex-wife, with whom he recently broke up, or his mistress, with whom he got together, could have done this. Usoltseva hopes that they can easily find out who is doing this: after all, they have Aksentyev. But the ex-wife refuses to let Aksentyev touch her. And without that, his gift doesn't work. Operas have to figure it out for themselves. They learn from Okunev's mistress that she knows well who is doing this, but Okunev does not believe in it. This is Vyazgin, the former roommate of his mistress. He loves her and doesn't want to lose her, but she loves Okunev, and he can't do anything, so he secretly sets up their love nest and makes sure that she lives comfortably. The opera already think that the case has been solved, but Aksentyev, having entered into a conversation with his mistress, finds out that soon Vyazgin will come to them and kill them both. The terrified Aksentyev informs Usoltseva about this, then rushes to Okunev and his mistress, trying to warn them, and finds out that he misunderstood everything. It's not Vyazgin who will kill them, but they killed Vyazgin and took his corpse out in an old cold house, and now they live on his money, buying expensive things for themselves using his card. Shocked by the revelation, Okunev confesses everything. And a visitor comes to Aksentyev. This is his doctor, Savitsky. From him, the opera learns that Aksentyev fell off his bike as a teenager and spent 14 years in a coma. That's why he's acting like a teenager. And they did not find him because he is not Aksentyev. He's Savitsky. The doctor is his guardian.
