Gunshots resound in the mountains: the valley of Lusagne is about to welcome the hunting of wolves. While the village is in turmoil to prepare the event, mysterious human bones are discovered in a cave. William Delapierre, a young man with no family or attachment, was coldly executed with a bullet in the skull, then abandoned in the mountains. Alex Hugo is convinced that the case conceals a mystery more complex than a simple settlement of account. The discovery of a wild adolescent, lost in the forest, gives him reason.
