Colonel Halleux is grumpy as alderman François forces him to buy Tiene's tenure by accepting a political protege for a promotion two firemen aspire, one even perfectly qualified. Police and fire department are getting desperate about a local pyromaniac who keeps striking all around. The biggest arson is in the circus tent, when Ronnie's kid son is attending with his mother, who finally appreciates the rescue. Primes suspect is an artist who quit after the circus director passed him over, but the real culprit is caught lurking around the crime site.
