A bookie asks womanizing tennis player Walter Richmond, who's short on cash, to locate an inactive, high-rolling client. Walter discovers that the old gambler apparently died when his sailboat sank, leaving his beautiful young widow with little money. Sparks fly between Walter and the widow when he finds out the gambler placed bets three months after the accident.
