Mike's Uncle Alex dies leaving him an inheritance of $500. Archie thinks that the money should go his way, but Mike thinks that it should go to George McGovern's presidential campaign. He does, and then secretly he starts working nights until he can get the money paid back. Gloria works herself into a frazzle trying to keep him fed and keep a lid on his story, until things come to a head and they are forced to admit to Archie what they did.
