Bart bumbles his way to a brilliant solution although not without consequences, and he finally makes a breakthru with Frank who agrees to be his mentor. Frank is infuriated by the arrogance of Mike Vlasek, the new Head of Surgery. Alison has a shocking announcement for Frank: she's taking leave to go overseas, taking Kathleen with her. Dan reluctantly steps forward to become the Acting NUM.
