Tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in November revealed she had a rare form of abdominal cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei. After surgery and chemotherapy, Hepburn spent her last days at home in Switzerland, passing away in her sleep on January 20, 1993.
