Barnhem, One Sky och Childhood

Growing up in an orphanage drastically increases the risk of being abused. Childhood supports organizations that work to ensure that children primarily grow up with their biological parents. In Ukraine, with the support of the Queen, they have succeeded in reducing the number of children in orphanages. In Kiev, we visit old orphanages that now conduct groundbreaking activities. And in Thailand, we visit a village where over 20 unregistered orphanages have established themselves. The homes, which are run by everything from religious sects to outright fraudsters, trick parents into leaving their children there with the promise of education. Then they swindle money from volunteers and donors in the West. The organization One Sky, with the support of Childhood, works to convert parents and support them financially so that they can afford education for their children.
