BBC Proms

Season 1

The Proms is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London. The Proms were founded in 1895, and are now organised and broadcast by the BBC.

Bryn Terfel is the demon barber of Fleet Street and he's joined by Maria Freedman, Simon Russell Beale, Julian Ovenden, Caroline O'Connor, Daniel Evans and Jenna Russell, with a special guest appearance from Dame Judi Dench. David Charles Abell conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra, aspiring young performers supported by the BBC Performing Arts Fund, and a specially formed BBC Proms Sondheim Ensemble.
